A Brand New Year

What will this new year bring? I hope it does bring some change in my life. I hate to say I am going to do this in the new year or that. I hate putting that pressure on myself and then fail. One thing I want to do is be more organized. I have to be. I miss stuff all the time. I never used to be this way. I think I was more productive when I worked! I need to make out a schedule of what to do on what days. Hopefully that will help. The most important this is I want to be a better mother and wife this year. I feel like I do pretty good at the wife thing. I have just been struggling this year with Lulabelle. Twelve sure is a tough age. I have to have more patience with her and show her how much I love her more often. Now is such an important age that I don't want to mess up now. My family means the world to me! I have to remember that in giving my time to others. I am tired of putting so much effort in to people who only use me. That will change this year for sure! So here is to a happy 2011!

Wake up call

I know that I live my life day to day and take all of those days for granted. I know that I should appreciate things more but I always think there will be tomorrow. Well the last week has been a major wake up call for me. Unfortunately at other expense. I have only met Lane a handful of times. The first time he was about 3 years old. Lane is the son of one of Joe's best friends from high school. Last week Lane felt that there was nothing left for him in this life and at 16 years old he took his own life. It makes me so sad to think that he felt so helpless. He is very loved by his family and friends. We went to visit Sean and Marla on Friday night. It took everything in me not to cry in front of them. I cried the entire way home and then cried myself to sleep. It made me think of how lucky I am and all I have in this life. It made me question myself as a wife, a mother and just as a person in general. I want to do better. Then on Tuesday and friend of mine went in for a routine surgery. When they were filling her with CO2 they nicked a vein and all the gas went to her heart. They had to pump her chest for 2 minutes to bring her back. Thus wake up call number 2 in less than a week. I now am doing more and better instead of just saying I want to do better. I love my husband, children, family and friends so very much and now I just need to show it more. I need to stop and smell the roses. I feel like my eyes are now wide open. I am no longer going to worry about the little things like gossip and drama. I am going to concentrate on the good and not the bad. I am so sorry that Lane had to lose his life and my friend had to go through what she has this week but I am thankful for the much needed wake up call.

He Is His Father's Child!!!

From the moment I found out I was having a boy I knew I was in trouble. Joe's son, WOW! So a few weeks ago Landon learned how to ride his bike without his training wheels. He had been asking Daddy for a while to take them off but I really did not want him to take them off. I knew once he got them off his bike he would be taking them off his motorcycle. Well her learned within 2 days and was doing a great job. He learned how to start on his own, stop and turn around. Last Thursday night I was waiting in the parking lot of the school for aerobics to start and I got a text from Joe. It was Landon riding his motorcycle without training wheels. I knew then I was in for it. Well the next day was Friday and it was finally warming up so the kids were outside riding their bikes. I came inside to help Landon change into a short sleeved shirt and when he was done he went back outside. The phone rang so I answered it and before I knew it Jenna was at the front door saying that Landon had wrecked him bike. When I got out there he was a bloody mess. I took him from Tyrone and went into the bathroom to wash his hands off and check him over. Before I even had a chance Toshia said you have to take him to the ER right now. I didn't know what to do so I asked her to drive us. She got her truck and I held Landon kicking and screaming the entire way there. When I got to the ER I had to fill out some papers. When Toshia walked in she looked like she had been shot. She was covered in his blood. They took us back right after that and told me they would sedate him to stitch up his chin. I was so relived because I knew it would be terrible to try and hold him down. Gami, Gramps and Alyssa got there and decided to go to Wal Mart and try to find him some toys to make him happy. Joe got there right before they put him under. It was awful. His eyes were open but he was out of it. It was not a good feeling to see him that way. They were not able to do anything with his tooth. After waking up he started throwing up and had to have a CAT Scan. After a few hours they finally let us go home. The pain meds make him so sick that the threw up all day on Saturday. He has hardly eaten anything since then. He is so weak and it is so sad to watch. I took him to the dentist on Monday and they can't do anything for another week. They are hoping to pull his tooth without having to cut his gums. It has been a rough several days and I am sure there are going to be more to come. That is all for today. I will keep you posted!

Happy Birthday Grandma Keller

Happy Birthday Grandma Keller. Even though you are not here with me I am still celebrating. I miss eating cake with you on your birthday. You were the best grandmother to me. I remember always having so much fun with you. You would take me to the mall and let me buy penny candy at the candy store. We would eat bonbons on the swing outback. I remember playing Old Maids with you and you would always cheat!! You were the grandparent that always cared about me, loved me and showed me that and did not just say it. I miss you very much and think about you all the time.

2 Sides to every story

You would think as a 33 year old woman that I would know that every story has 2 sides and not to judge a book by its cover. Yet I find myself in a bad spot. Why do I do this? I know better. Yet I listened to what someone else said and took it for truth. In turn we have hurt a child. How do you make that go away. DH has apologized to the child but he was still very upset with him. Why do people feel the need to talk about something that they know nothing about? Why do we all forget that there are 2 sides to every story. I am so sick of gossip and grown adults acting like they are in high school. I have made a promise to myself that I will never fall into that trap again. From here on out I am done with other peoples drama and gossip.

Let it snow!

Let me start by saying I am so excited that they are calling for snow tomorrow!!! Now let me run through the check list. Bread, milk and peanut butter -check, gas for the generator - check, snow suits for the kids and me - check. Looks like we are ready. I actually went to the store on Monday when they first started really talking about snow so I could avoid the crowd of people. Joe went to the gas station yesterday and got 27 gallons of gas. We can't go without power. For one the National Championship game comes on tomorrow night and the Lime Creek Gang would die if they didn't get to watch. When Alyssa got home from school today she informed me that there would not be school tomorrow. I got excited and drug the kids out to Academy. When I got there they didn't have any toddler size snow gear. Alyssa tried on the large and it fit perfect. When I went out to get her the XL someone had put a 3T on the empty rack. I scooped it up and tried it on Landon. I barely fits him but it will do. I also bought a snow suit. Hopefully we will all be warm. Joe thinks we are crazy. Danny will be out of town so I have told my mother that she has to come and stay with us. I don't want her home alone especially if we lose power. I just hope that I have not gone through all of this for nothing. So let it snow let it snow let it snow!!!

Happy New Year

So 2009 is over! It was a good year in so many ways for us but a very trying year for many people that we know. I just pray that 2010 is a year of change. Not to sound like Obama LOL!! My main resolutions this year are to stay organized and to spend more time one on one with each of my kids. I get so much time with Landon alone and very little with Alyssa. Not that I don't think she minds but I do. I find myself needing more patience with her and I am hoping if we spend more one on one time together it will help with her attitude towards me. I love her so much and want us to be close. If you know me the staying organized is going to be the tough part! I hate to clean! I am going to call a friend that has a business call "All Spaced Out" to help me out. I also want to lose some weight. That sounds so generic for a resolution. Well I am going to try anyway. I also want to make more time for my friends that count and love me! I feel like I am keeping up with too many friendships that are one sided. I also want to keep up with my blogging much better!! I am going to try at them all. So here is to 2010!!!!

Retired Again!

Yeah! I am retired once again! Phillip came back to work yesterday and I could not be any happier. The kids only have this week left and then they are out of school for 2 weeks. I have so much to get done. I made the mistake on Friday of calling the Hannah Home for a pick up this Friday. So Friday night go went into clean out mode. I cleaned my bedroom and closet and got about 6 bags for HH. If you know me you know that I hate to clean! Saturday I started in the bathroom and worked my way into Alyssa's closet. I still have to finish laundry and the hall bathroom but my house has not been this clean in forever! I love it though. Every time I walk into my bedroom I say to myself that I am going to keep it this clean all the time! I am sure that really won't happen but I am going to try. We took the kids to my dad's church on Sunday evening for the Christmas program. Brandon, Patti and Bryanna came too! Landon and Bryanna tried hard but I think the old lady behind us was mad. About 20 minutes into the program she brought the kids activity books. They already had some and could care less about them. They just wanted to stand and clap and sing and ask for more candy! So today Jennifer was going to come over and wrap presents with me. I had to get started! She was not able to come but I still got most of our families stuff wrapped. Now hopefully tomorrow I can get all of the kids stuff done. The kids parties are on Thursday so I am on the final count down. Joe is gone to the hunting club for the night so I guess I am on my own! Ok so I am off to get Alyssa from the bus and hope she doesn't have any homework!

Working Mom

I know I said I was going to try and keep up with my blog again but OMG it is hard to find time. Phillip, the body man at Joe's shop, had back surgery about 6 weeks ago so I have been working 3 or 4 days a week at the shop. I have so forgotten what it was like to be a working mom. Joe's twin sister, Lisa, has been staying with us to help out and I don't know what I would do without her help. She has been the laundry fairy! She is also a great help by cleaning the kitchen and helping out with the kids. We have had a great time with Lisa at our house. We normally don't get to see her that often so we have been trying to do fun stuff with her. We have gone bowling, picked out and decorated our Christmas tree, played board games and lots of other fun stuff. I hope she is having as much fun with the kids as they are with her! As much as I have loved her being with us I am ready to be a stay at home mom again. Working and being a mom is so hard. I have a new found respect for every working mom out there. I say this like I didn't work up until Alyssa was 8 years old. It was only one child then and I was younger! Sometimes when I am at home and having a crazy day with my toddler I think to my self that maybe I need to go back to work. Well these past 6 weeks have let me see that I never want to work again as long as I have a child in the house! I have loved being at the shop and spending time with Joe. We actually get to sit down together and eat lunch without have to fix someones plate or clean up a drink that has been knocked over. I know it has been hard on him having to work out in the shop so much. Phillip goes back to the doctor tomorrow and we are all hoping he comes back next week! I hope so. I am ready to get my life back to normal! Oh and finish my Christmas shopping! That is a whole different blog post!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALYSSA

My sweet baby girl is 11 years old today! How time flies. It seems like just yesterday she was born. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and I was 3 cm and he decided he would induce me the next morning. I had so much to do that night and thought the stomach cramps were just my nerves but when I got to the hospital I found out I had been contracting. When we woke up the next morning Joe took one last picture of me pregnant and we were off. I remember when I came out of the bathroom after changing into my gown Joe was pacing the floor he was so nervous. The rest of the morning went well. I did have the nurse give me a dose of Stadol that made me laugh and laugh and laugh! I could not even look at the nurse with out laughing! Gami and Gramps were even laughing at me. After a short time of pushing she was born at 1:13pm weighing 7lbs 3oz. She was such a beautiful baby and has now grown into such a beautiful young lady. She is so smart and funny. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of her. She has such a big heart and feisty spirit. The day she was born is one of the best days of my life!! I am honored to be her mother! XOXO

So I am going to try this again!

So I am going to try the whole blogging thing again. I didn't do so great the first time around so I am hoping I do better this time! Summer was very busy for us and I am finally adjusted to the kids being back in school. Landon is in school 3 days a week this year so I decided to start working up at the shop one day a week. I am also helping coach Alyssa's cheerleading squad this year. Dear Lord help me! I try to have patience but some of those girls attitude can really test you! I just don't remember being so disrespectful at that age or ever for that matter! Well I am going to go for now. Mercedes had Addison last week and I have been sick so I have not gotten to hold her and I am feeling better so I can't wait to swaddle the baby!

Summer is almost here!!!!

So it has been a week since my last blog. It has been a crazy week and school is not out yet! What am I going to do when it is summer? Landon ended up sick on Wednesday and almost missed his last day of school. I did take him on Thursday but a little late. The kids had a great time at the party! I will miss his teachers so much. He really did have 2 great ones this year! He took to Angela right away and I like to think she took to him too! He did warm up to Donna too! So Alyssa's last day of school is next Thursday. We have award day on Tuesday and Wednesday is end of the year party and field day. Busy! Busy! So to the real question. What am I going to do all summer with 2 kids at home?????? I am thinking that if I keep them busy that will be best. It is so hard with such a big age difference. What Landon likes Alyssa does not and what Alyssa likes Landon could care less. Although I am panicking about it now I am looking forward to sleeping in a little and getting to spend lots of time with the kids. I think they are growing up too fast! Well I better wrap this up and get some laundry done! So if you see me pulling out my hair you will know that it is officially summer then! XOXO

Not Me Monday!

So I am going to tryout the Not Me Monday! I saw this on another blog and loved it. So here I go.

I did not lay in bed all day yesterday instead of doing laundry and grocery shopping! I did not see my 2 year old peeing in the parking lot of Wal-Mart! I did not let the same 2 year old have popcorn for breakfast. I did not eat all weekend and gain back most of the weight that took me 2 weeks to lose! I did not drink too much on Saturday night and crawl around on the floor like a puma or do things on the golf cart that only Joe and I know about! I am sure there is more that I did not do but now I have to go and not balance my checkbook! Happy Monday!

Good Old Joe

Like I have said before I have the best husband in the world! I am now sure that everyone knows this because they constantly call him for favors! If someone needs money, parts, tools, a ride because they broke down or a paint job for free they come a calling. It is not that I mind helping people out because I don't. I like to think I do it often myself but enough is enough! If you borrow it pay it back or return it! If he helps you fix your car remember him when he needs help! He is always doing things for others but others never help him. His problem is he can't say NO! I have been wondering how I could teach him this. Do you think I could teach him like a dog? I could put a shock collar on him and every time the phone rings I could shock him. Sounds like fun to me but I don't think it would work. I guess in short I just want people to treat him with the respect that he treats them with. Ok so enough complaining. I will think happy thoughts for tomorrows blog.

Happy Birthday Kelly!

Today is for Kelly! It is my best friends birthday. I want her to know how greatful I am for our friendship not only today but every day. I can remember so many fun times together so in honor of your birthday here are some on my favorite memories of us!

Going to the beach with my mom and her getting sunburned. We went out that night by ourselves and met up with Chris and Todd. You went to get in the back seat and I put the seat back too soon and your bushwacker drink went every where! We had to sneak back into the hotel for you to change.

You telling Ashley Wilson "If you don't like what we are about to do then you better get out of my car" and she sat on the curb!!

Being chased down 31 by a car load of girls who got out at a red light and attacked your car. When the light turned green and they were headed back to their car you yelled to them "Come on with your bad self, b**ches!!!

Sips n' Strokes! Need I say more?

The night you tripped over the hat rack and I got in trouble!

I could go on and on for days! I just want you to know how special our friendship is to me and how much I love you! (You know like a sister not in a Sharon kind of way!) XOXO

My very giving husband

Let me start by saying that I have the best husband in the world. He is not only the best husband but a wonderful father. He will take the shirt off his back for you. So back in October he hired a kid to be his clean up boy at the shop. I will call him Toby. (That is the nickname that every clean up boy has had.) He has had a very hard life and needed a chance. Joe has gone out on a limb for people before and has been burned every time so I was a little apprehensive at first. I was so wrong. Toby comes to work every day and does a great job. So great that Joe gave him a raise of $2 an hour and made him a bodyman. He also went and bought him tools and will let him pay it back weekly. Well when Toby got home yesterday he just wanted to tell his mom the good news and all she did was yell at him. He walked down to our house and Joe took him to the shop and is letting him stay in our camper for a few nights. Now Joe has decided to help him find a place to live and help him get a car. Joe is such a selfless person. I not only love him with all my heart but I am very proud of him. XOXO

My first blog

So this is my very first blog. I am not really sure why I decided to do this so please keep that in mind when reading. Although I am not sure who is going to read this!! I guess this is where I a going to let it all out! Wish me luck.
